Balance is bullshit... // I never had an opinion of @miafreedman . Not good or bad, just indifferent I guess. Knew she was polarizing in the media. But knew she was a successful woman with a career, media business and family, and who doesn't admire the bloody hard work that goes into that. But reading her new book on holiday, many of her words are oh so true. Some of it a bit extreme for me, but on work life balance I think she might be bang on when she says there is no such thing, and balance is bullshit. You'll be kinda leaning more into one (work or family) than the other, at various times.
You can have it all but it's not going to look like those perfect images you see here on social media, because these are people's highlights. They're not real life.
Which brings me to the fact that I hate the influencer term and everything it's become. So much fake, not enough genuine connection. So much so that I've really dropped back from this Insta world.

I don't really know what the end is, perhaps it's the end of Instagram for me with all its pitfalls lately (it's definitely not what it used to be - honest, real, authentic, any other word I could use to describe the opposite of what it is now haha). I do know I'm sick of the juggle which is why I chose to go 'back' to work 4 days a week and stop posting on here as much. Because I wanted life to be simple. When I'm at work, I'm 100% focused on that. When I'm home with the kids and hubby, it's 100% about them. No juggling. No phone when they're around. Aka, social media whenever the fuck I feel like it, no pressure, no stress about likes or stats (WHO THE FUCK CARES!!!). Less juggling.
Mia's got it right when she says "Balance is bullshit. It's a blunt force instrument that women are being encouraged to use to beat ourselves around the head in pursuit of unattainable perfection. Just like the photoshopped, edited images of women... (continued in comments ) #excusetherant #thinkingoutloud
