So I was watching this documentary series on Greek mythology and it's so fascinating how all religions are in theory, the fucking same. 1. There is a god or gods. 2. They control the universe. 3. If you don't praise them, have faith, do what they want, etc, you are going to hell. This is what we have wars over? Ridiculous. But anyways, I also find it interesting that most stories originate from these religions. For example: the origin story of Zeus, he was hidden away and grew up away from the world he was originally supposed to be a part of so that he could fulfill his destiny and defeat "the villain." Uh... this is like every story fucking ever... the story of jesus, fucking Harry Potter bro even the mortal instruments etc. I haven't even gotten into the base structure that we, in theory, all come from incest, also very much like every story ever. The point that I am actually not really trying to make, I was just rambling and noticed a point, is that all ancient stories, theories, etc, turn into religions or are religions and serve as a guide for us to find our way into believing in the universe, karma, doing what is right and it's sad that no matter what we are told, the guidelines we are given, the outcomes we are shown, we still choose anger, destruction, greed and pride and question why bad stuff happens. Actually, I don't know if this is sad or poetically and tragically beautiful.
