 All weight loss diets from the good, to the bad, to the outright ugly have a core tenant – they induce a calorie deficit (consume less calories than your body burns or you burn more calories than you eat).

⚖️ One of the most well-known studies to demonstrate this was the Minnesota starvation experiment in 1945. 36 men were subjected to a diet of 1570 calories for 6 months as well as being required to walk three or more miles a day. The men lost weight every week: approximately 25% of their starting body weight and finished about 5% body fat. Another study done by Dundee Uni saw a patient fast for 392 days. He started at 206kg and reached 81kg. Did these people eat too few calories to lose weight?

⛽ Your body will not hold onto fat if you create a calorie deficit, it will burn it as needed, for fuel until its need for energy is balanced. If you have a calorie requirement of 2000 kcals per day and you eat 2000 kcals per day, you maintain weight. If you consistently ate 3000 kcals, you’d gain weight, if you ate 1500 kcals, you’ll lose weight.

 However, the bigger the calorie deficit doesn’t result in faster results. Eat too little and you’ll suffer. Consuming the right amount of calories is crucial to sustain training performance, minimise loss of lean mass, prevent hunger etc. Conservative deficits of around 15-20% seem to be the sweet spot.

Ever seen the series where they all fail to lose weight because they’re ‘not eating enough’, no, of course not, many finish the show considerably lighter (and often ill-looking) due to the lack of food and increased exercise (calorie deficit at work). On a more serious note, if the body decided to go into ‘starvation mode’ then the terrible plight of many who experience famine would therefore be unexplained.

Find out sh_foodbook's Instagram ‼️SNACK TIME‼️Is there any peanut butter  fan? Well I am definitely, and here you can see some homemade  bread bites with this delicious gift of nature 
How to do it? 
For flat bread all you need is a banana, egg and oats. You mash the banana and mixed it with the egg and 1/3 cup of oats. You put it to nonstick baking plate and put it to the oven for 30 minutes in 175*C. 
After that time leave it to cool and then cut it into smaller pieces.
Put whatever you wish on top: my favorite is of course peanut butter and banana and some extra goji berries on top
Enjoy your snack!!!

I think we all can agree that carbs are one of the best things about being a living breathing human. But unfortunately, not all carbs are created equal

As shown above they are divided into three different types..

Generally you’ll do well if majority of your diet is made up of fibrous & complex carbs. This means LOTS of vegetables and also unrefined complex carbs – think brown rice, beans, oatmel etc.

Simple carbs generally taste the best – things like lollies, donuts, dairy products etc would fall under this category. Unfortunately these foods aren’t fantastic for the health and should be limited – life sucks sometimes. The good news though is that they can easily be incorporated into any diet plan in moderation & will make your dieting process much less miserable.

Fruits would also be considered simple, but fruits are obvs awesome, 'simple' to digest & contain vitamins & minerals we need.
